ABOUT ANGEL
I am originally from Harlem, in New York City. My mother was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. My father is from Hookerton, North Carolina. I enjoy my ethnic mix and share the humor of her heritage with her audience as part of her stand up comedy routine.
As a performer, I hyphenate from TV/Film and Theater acting, Stand Up comedy and Voice Acting. As a voice talent, I have experience doing commercials, political spots, animation, narration and ADR.
After completing a 10 week course in recorded Dreaming In Cuban by Cristina García. I narrated the chapter “Herminia Delgado” for the 2021 edition with PRH: Herminia is the best friend of Felicia del Pino. She is the daughter of a high priest of Santería and helps guide Felicia to the religion.
As the first African American DJ at Cornell University (WVBR-FM); I learned my destination was to be Voice in the entertainment industry …even though I grew up a poor Cuban Black Jamaican in one of Harlem’s worst rat-infested tenements.
Following my college initiation into the voice over world I began to receive commercial and narration work in voice-over work in Washington, DC- winning the Achievement in Radio Award two years in a row, for her Outstanding Voice Over performance in Washington, DC, I 1987 and 1988.
My career transformed into a full-time professional performer when I came to Los Angeles and signed with Sutton Barth and Vennari.
• I have been a Voice Actor for animated movie Rug Rats, Batman and commercials/trailers plus ADR and voice-matching for films The Super and Hurricane;
• Voice several characters for the award-winning radio drama It’s Your World for 15 years.
• Voice Print has been described as versatile, vibrant, engaging, embodying characters that span a wide range of ages and cultural backgrounds.
• A voice perfect for perfect for PSA’s, Cosmetic commercials and Animation character project.
For the past 12 years. She worked as an elementary school teacher with LAUSD. Currently Angel is a certified On Location Teacher.
Her serious hobbies are Salsa and Hip Hop dancing, movie premiers and concerts. She is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys working out in a gym 5 days a week. She slows things down by taking 5 mile prayer walks in the morning.
